Highlands Pacific is a new Papua New Guinean mining company with two projects in PNG at an advanced assessment stage and a suite of exploration tenements in PNG and Indonesia. Highlands Pacific's objective is to become a major Papua New Guinean mining company focused on base metals and gold.
The principal assets of the Company include a 65% majority interest in the Ramu nickel/cobalt project, a 21.5% interest in the Frieda River copper/gold project, together with Cyprus Amax and majority or total interest in some twenty exploration properties in Papua New Guinea and two Contracts of Work in Indonesia.
The Ramu project is currently the subject of a bankable feasibility study, scheduled for completion in the third quarter 1998 whilst additional resource drilling is being undertaken at Frieda River.
